Dear Nurses,

Nurses Week has ended but the "Power of Nurses" was exhibited across the territory. Thanks to the office of the Governor for responding to the annual request and issuing the Gubernatorial Proclamation. On St. Croix nurses kicked off the week with a worship service held at the VI Cardiac Center during which Pastor Mona Barnes of the City of Refuge shared that a nurse spoke life into her mother when doctors expressed hopelessness fourteen (14) years ago. At the Schneider Regional Medical Center, the JFL Hospital and Medical Center and the F'sted Health Care, Inc. employers held activities in appreciation of their nursing staff. Digital billboards on both islands displayed ads for the entire week. St. Thomas ended the week with a worship service at the Philadelphia SDA church. The highlight of the week was a banner lit on the grounds of the Capitol Legislative Building on St. Thomas for the week sponsored by Sen. Ray Fonseca putting VISNA on the national Nurses Light up the Sky campaign. Hope those of you on St. Thomas saw all of the visual displays. A picture collage will follow. Let's continue to make the difference in all healthcare environments!!!
