HAPPY NURSES’S DAy
Posted over 3 years ago by Evet Rivera
Happy Nurses’s Day to all Registered Professional Nurses in the Virgin Islands.
On behalf of the Executive and Board of Directors, I wish to extend greetings to all our dedicated colleagues as we celebrate the week/ month set aside to honor and recognize nurses for all we do.
The past two years were and remain very challenging to the profession, nurses are burnt out and are leaving the profession daily. I salute each and everyone for your dedication and professionalism to the community that we serve. The working conditions are not of the best but you continue o give of your best for the patients and their families. Nurses have sacrificed times with their families so that they can provide care and meet the needs of the community.
I ask of you, in all that you do remember to self care, take time to be good to yourself, surround yourself with positivity and even when it looks hopeless, at the end of the day you can proudly say I gave my all and my best to my patients .
Let us join together and celebrate our profession and each other, things are not what we would like it to be , but continue the fight and remember VISNA is working for you and we need to work together as a team because there is strength in unity.
I encourage everyone to avail themselves of the offerings and educational activities that are posted on the VISNA and ANA website. Interesting things are happening.
Finally, I am inviting everyone to the church services that will be held on all three islands on Sunday May 15th , 2022. The services will be held at the Methodist churches as follows:
St. Croix. Bethel Methodist ( Opposite the Marley Housing Community on the way to Dorsch Beach F’sted ) Service starts at 8am
St. Thomas : Christchurch Methodist Market Square . Service starts at 9am
St John: St. John Methodist . Service starts at 10 am.
Flyers will be posted in Hospitals and Clinics.
I am requesting that nurses wear white attire.
Happy Nurses’s Week from the Executive and Board of Directors ( Virgin Islands State Nurses Association.)
